Meta partners with Arm on Arm AGI CPU, its first AI-era data center CPU

Meta announced a partnership with Arm to co-develop a new class of CPUs for data centers and large-scale AI deployments. Head of Infrastructure Santosh Janardhan said traditional CPUs can no longer keep up with Meta's AI training and inference needs, and the multi-generation roadmap targets massive compute density for gigawatt-scale AI data centers.
The first product, Arm AGI CPU, is Arm's first data center CPU designed specifically for the AI era. The poster argues the deal is long-term bullish for Arm, and any demand bounce for AMD/Intel CPUs may last at most a year.
