LangChain Introduces 3-Dimensional Evaluation Framework for Voice Agents
LangChain · x · 2026-08-05
LangChain released a guide on evaluating voice agents using LangSmith. Because effective voice agents must balance natural interaction, issue resolution, and business goals, the article proposes evaluating them across three core dimensions:
- Execution: Did the agent follow design instructions, such as calling tools correctly, adhering to privacy policies, and confirming information?
- Outcome: Did the interaction achieve its intended business or functional goal?
- Experience: Was the conversation smooth and natural for the caller?
These dimensions are related but not interchangeable. With LangSmith, developers can trace full interaction trajectories, score with multiple evaluators, inspect recordings, and compare iterations.
