Researchers at The Chinese University of Hong Kong have developed a magnetic slime robot capable of remote control, navigating tight spaces, deforming around obstacles, and grasping objects.

A potential future medical application for this soft robot includes assisting in retrieving accidentally swallowed objects inside the human body without traditional surgery. While soft robotics offers advantages in flexibility over rigid machines, challenges remain in safety, control, retrieval, biocompatibility, and clinical validation.
