According to Business Insider, OpenAI hosted a group of about 30 content creators at the luxury Wildflower Farms resort in New York's Hudson Valley last weekend. Room rates typically exceed $2,000 per night.

Billed as the "OpenAI Summer Camp," the itinerary featured farm-to-table dinners, educational sessions on OpenAI's latest tools like ChatGPT Work, and outdoor activities such as beekeeping. Attendees also received OpenAI-branded merchandise, including canvas bags and jars of honey.

However, the idyllic retreat sparked swift backlash online. Many internet users were uncharmed by the lavish marketing event, with some commenters going as far as calling the vibe "cult-like."
