Wayve says its GAIA-4 world model is now useful for robotics simulation at scale

Wayve’s Alex Kendall says the team built its first world model back in 2018, and that after a decade of research it has now learned how to make these models useful for robotics simulation at production scale.
The new blog introduces GAIA-4, described as a world model for autonomy. In the linked Wayve materials, the company also frames GAIA as a generative AI world model that can:
- generate realistic driving videos from text,
- support autonomy research and simulation,
- and plug into a broader embodied-AI stack alongside products like Wayve AI Driver, LINGO, and the WayveScenes101 benchmark dataset.
The overall message is that world models are moving from research curiosity toward practical simulation infrastructure for autonomous driving and robotics.
