Alibaba's Qwen team announced that its most capable model to date, Qwen3.8-Max (2.4T parameters), will be released as open weights next week, alongside the Qwen3.8-27B model.
The new model sets a fresh benchmark for coding and long-horizon tasks:
- Autonomous Coding: Capable of 10+ days of self-evolving development, taking projects from an empty folder to production without hand-holding. The complete project trace is available on GitHub.
- Long-Horizon Mastery: Features system-level autonomous planning with closed-loop adaptive learning, handling 500+ turns of chip design optimization and 365 days of e-commerce strategy.
