Researcher Ian Pritchard is developing a robotic muscle material that combines damage resistance and self-healing. Made primarily of silicone, it withstands crushing and squishing without damage, though embedded permanent magnets remain a weak point, to be mitigated with distributed magnetic particles. Plans to scale up sample size and share a video.
