Alibaba officially released the Qwen3.8-Max model alongside the public beta of Qwen Office. The model features 2.4 trillion total parameters with 95 billion active parameters, supports 1M context and vision, and is expected to be open-sourced next week.

On the latest Arena FrontendCode leaderboard, it trails Claude Opus 5 High by just 1 point. It ranks second globally on TextArena, behind only Anthropic. An official demo showed it autonomously building an agent framework from an empty folder over 16 days.
Pricing & Products
The API offers aggressive pricing: 12 RMB/M input and 36 RMB/M output domestically, with cache hits at 1.5 RMB. The integrated Qwen Office connects with DingTalk and enterprise databases, allowing local and cloud tasks to be packaged into reusable 'Organizational Skills'.
