Qwen Code v0.21.4 Released: Desktop Web Shell, Subagent Isolation & Cache Optimization
qwen-code-ci-bot · ghdev · 2026-08-03
Alibaba's Qwen Code assistant has released version v0.21.4, introducing several feature upgrades and optimizations.
- Web Shell Upgrades: Now a release-ready desktop app with native lifecycle management, single-instance behavior, and automatic updates. History pagination handles oversized turns gracefully with a retry button.
- Agents & Caching: Forked subagents are now fully isolated from siblings to prevent directive leakage. Chat compression reuses the main conversation prompt cache, reducing latency without executing tools.
- Code Review: The /review skill correctly follows configured output languages. The review verifier now treats unverified findings as low-confidence confirmations, and the new qwen review drive command polls for service readiness.
