Alibaba's Qwen3.8-Max Hits #4 on Code Arena, Open Weights Coming Next Week

Alibaba's Qwen team released Qwen3.8-Max, its most capable model to date with 2.4T parameters. It secured #4 on the Frontend Code Arena leaderboard with a score of 1,668, closely trailing Claude Opus 5 (Max) and Kimi K3 (Max), while ranking high across consumer products, data analytics, and other domains.
The model demonstrates breakthroughs in autonomous coding and long-horizon planning. It can independently perform 10+ days of self-evolving development, taking projects from empty folders to production. It also excels in complex scenarios like chip design optimization and e-commerce strategy. Open weights for both Qwen3.8-Max and Qwen3.8-27B are scheduled for release next week.
