A developer shared their experience using Claude Code alongside frontier models to build a multiplayer tank combat game in just a week and a half.
Inspired by Battlefield 1942 and Overwatch 2, the core gameplay revolves around upgrading tanks round-by-round and destroying enemies. The game is highly polished, featuring:
- Core Combat: 6 different tanks, 3 maps with destructible terrain, a ballistic shell system, and hit multiplier regions.
- Multiplayer & Matchmaking: A full matchmaking system, lag compensation, an ELO ladder, and AI bots to backfill empty slots.
- Social & Extras: Replay/clip systems, in-game power-ups, career profiles, group/friends systems, and a 3-layer chat system.
