Developer Test: Claude Opus Autonomously Builds 3D Open-World RPG

draginol · x · 2026-08-03

A developer shared their experience using an AI model to autonomously write a game. They simply gave the model the prompt to 'make an open world RPG' and left it to work autonomously for a couple of hours.

Surprisingly, the model not only generated a playable game but also autonomously added environmental effects like a day/ight cycle and sunshine, which were not explicitly requested in the initial prompt. The author noted that they had to iterate a few times to fix an issue where the keyboard didn't work on Mac initially.
