From Cursor to TUI: Testing OpenCode + herdr for AI Coding Workflows

A former PM turned GTM engineer shared recent insights on AI coding setups. Initially preferring Cursor and Codex Desktop for their GUI affordances, they recently shifted to a workflow combining OpenCode and herdr (an agent multiplexer).

Despite initial skepticism towards TUIs, this new combo surprisingly provided similar configuration flexibility (herdr offers an API for agent and script manipulation) while retaining tighter control over model usage, worktree management, and agent orchestration. Next, they plan to test pi/omp as an alternative to OpenCode.
