By default, Claude Code gives up after 10 retry attempts during an API outage, which can disrupt long-running overnight tasks.
A developer discovered that adding "CLAUDECODERETRYWATCHDOG": "1" to your settings.json enables infinite retries at a slower interval, ensuring your long tasks survive temporary outages.
