Responding to Sam Altman's goal of offering the best 'price/intelligence' tradeoff at every level, an industry observer offered a sharp critique.
The author argues that the 'price/intelligence' metric is highly misleading. It creates the illusion that you are hiring a 'genius,' when in reality, you are merely renting someone with the 'potential to be a genius.' As any experienced manager knows, there is a huge gap between having potential and actually delivering results.
