88% of Enterprises Run AI Agents, But Only 7% Have Trust and Governance

A global Veeam survey of 600 executives reveals that enterprise adoption of AI agents has severely outpaced governance. While 88% of organizations are using or piloting AI agents, only 7% qualify as fully AI-ready.

- Lack of Accountability: When AI agents act autonomously and cause issues, it often remains unclear who owns the risk.
- The CISO Effect: Data shows that detection confidence for rogue agent behavior jumps 24% when a CISO takes ownership of agent risk. Conversely, if that ownership is shared across teams, detection confidence drops by 47%.
