Dylan Patel Pushes Back: Slowing Down AI Is Wishful Thinking

In response to the open letter from 1,238 AI lab employees urging a slowdown, Dylan Patel and other prominent figures have strongly pushed back.

Patel argues that "slowing down AI is ultimately wishful thinking," noting that the ultimate competition will not halt for safety concerns. He points out that very few employees from labs within 6 months of the frontier actually signed the letter.

Researcher Dzmitry Bahdanau echoed this, stating the "AI tsunami is inevitable." Instead of deceleration, he advocates for a "vaccination" approach: using advanced models for massive white-hat hacking to patch vulnerabilities before bad actors can exploit them.
