Open-weights letter gains support from NVIDIA, Microsoft and many AI companies
Jensen Huang shared NVIDIA’s first post endorsing an open-models letter, arguing that open models matter for safety, cybersecurity, innovation and sovereignty. The letter says the world needs both frontier closed models and frontier open models.
The repost also includes a later update from courtlandleer saying plasticlabs has signed the letter as well. The image shows a long list of signatories across the AI and tech ecosystem, including NVIDIA, Microsoft, Google, Meta, OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, Hugging Face, GitHub, LangChain, Vercel and others.
