Corgi hackathon drew 1,000 builders around AI products that “feel human”

This weekend, Corgi HQ became a large AI hackathon venue: 1,000 participants and 250+ teams spent 12 hours building around one theme, “make it feel human.”
The event included a YC Startup School follow-on session with Merge API, Vercel, PhotonHQ, and Fondocom. The post highlights the top 3 winners, including:
- Atlas — a “second brain” life map that reads Gmail, Calendar, and Drive and turns them into people, places, and projects that matter. It uses Merge’s Agent Handler and Gateway to pull and reason over data with an LLM.
- Golden Retriever — an AI companion inspired by a teammate’s uncle.
The thread frames the room as full of energy and talent, and positions the hackathon as an example of the current wave of human-centered AI product building.
