Jensen Huang: Defenders Need Open AI, Closed Models Hinder Security Forensics

Addressing the debate on open-source AI and safety, researcher DeryaTR argues that the best defense against the malicious use of AI is having access to the most powerful AI capabilities, whether closed or open.
Quoting NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, the post highlights that defenders need an ecosystem of frontier open and closed models, force-multiplied by a global community. Huang pointed to the recent Hugging Face security incident, noting that closed AI blocked essential forensics, whereas an open-weight frontier model helped contain the intrusion. This motivated the creation of the Open Secure AI Alliance.
