Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang argues that distillation is a fundamental part of intelligence, not theft.
In an Axios interview, he says AI learns the same way humans do — from other models, people, books, and other sources of knowledge. In his view, blocking that exchange only slows progress. He frames open and closed models as mutually reinforcing: broader knowledge sharing helps models improve, which in turn supports adoption, safety, developers, and the chip ecosystem.
