DeepSeek has reportedly put its second external funding round on hold after telling some potential investors that planned signings in the next few days would be delayed.
- Bloomberg said the round was expected to raise at least RMB 10 billion at a pre-money valuation of no less than RMB 480 billion.
- The pause reportedly came after a leaked internal memo raised trust concerns, but the deal has not been formally canceled and could restart later.
- The fundraising was intended to support expansion, including more compute, and may also affect the company’s IPO path, which Bloomberg says could come as early as 2026.
