A developer says they left home for four hours and their autonomous engineering loop shipped more than seven production PRs without supervision.
According to the post, the system was able to:
- open, review, and merge feature/fix PRs
- run unit, integration, and validation tests
- apply SQL migrations safely
- verify deployments and production gates
- run adversarial security/code reviews
- check post-deployment health, including Sentry and internal infrastructure
The author frames this as a shift from “one model writing code” to multiple specialized agents coordinating an end-to-end engineering workflow with minimal human intervention. They still see gaps in planning, long-horizon reasoning, rollback, and autonomous debugging, but argue this is the first time autonomous software engineering feels practical rather than like a demo.
