Jensen Huang says model distillation is just learning, and smarter AI may be safer

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang said distillation is fundamentally a form of learning, and learning is the basis of intelligence.
He argued that humans have always learned from one another, and AI will be no different. In his view, early models learned from human knowledge on the internet; in the future, the internet may be 99% AI-generated, and AI systems learning from one another will become normal.
Huang added that letting AI learn is a good thing, because smarter AI may also be safer.
