Automating Complex Tax Returns with Claude and Codex Saves Thousands

A developer fed complex income tax rules and documents into Claude and Codex to build a custom tax-filing skill. In testing, Claude and Codex identified tax savings of 25k and 60k respectively compared to standard calculations.
The author also used Claude to automate tedious tasks like offline JSON data processing. They plan to fully automate the workflow next year, preferably using a local model.
