Google reportedly lost its lead after Gemini 3.0 Pro as rivals used AI to speed up internal coding
The post argues that Google had the advantage after Gemini 3.0 Pro, but then slipped because it underestimated how much OpenAI and Anthropic gained by using their own AI tools to automate internal coding.
It also says the race is not over: Google still has strengths in enterprise software, scale, and developer infrastructure, and those advantages could help it recover.
