OpenAI and Anthropic both rolled out desktop voice-mode updates within minutes of each other.
From the image:
- OpenAI says ChatGPT Voice is now in the desktop app.
- It can control the computer and direct multiple agents running in ChatGPT Work or Codex using voice.
- It is powered by GPT-Live and rolling out globally on macOS and Windows for Plus, Pro, Business, Edu, and Enterprise users.
- Anthropic says Claude Voice now runs on more capable models and can reach connected tools mid-conversation.
- Claude also emphasizes multilingual spoken problem solving.
The post comments on the amusing timing and the fact that Claude’s voices are too annoying for the author to use, while ChatGPT Voice is something they use regularly in the car.
