Peter Diamandis argues that the viral claim that one AI answer “uses a bottle or more of water” came from stretching a single 2023 estimate across the whole training and electricity supply chain.
He says the direct cooling water per query is much lower once the components are separated, and that the issue is being worked on continuously across the industry.
