Commenting on the recent OpenAI hack, the author notes that while the incident didn't cause physical harm or civilizational threats, it remains a major screw-up for the company.
More importantly, AI risks scale directly with capabilities. Based on current trend lines, this is the worst these models will ever be. As capabilities predictably continue to improve, the associated security and operational risks will only become more severe.
