A $1,000 open-source robot completed autonomous grocery manipulation
A repost says AlohaMini2, an open-source robot costing about $1,000, successfully finished a long-horizon grocery manipulation task fully autonomously.
The system is powered by an open-source AM-ACT policy, trained and deployed on a consumer 8GB GPU. According to the post, it needed only 50 demonstration episodes and reached a 50% end-to-end success rate, which the author frames as evidence that affordable embodied AI is becoming practical.
