Raji says FAccT still shaped AI policy more than any other CS conference

Raji argues that the criticism is largely revisionist history: under OSTP's Arati Prabhakar Nelson-era team and the FTC under Lina Khan, several senior advisors were hired directly from the FAccT conference executive committee.
She says FAccT remains the CS conference most attended by policymakers she knows, and that it has had the most material impact on what policymakers think about AI.
Her main point is that, despite its flaws, the conference has had real influence on policy and public understanding of AI.
