AMD reportedly teams up with Anthropic on 2 gigawatts of MI450 capacity

AMD is said to be striking a strategic partnership with Anthropic that ties together its MI355X/MI450 roadmap and the full Helios stack — MI455X, EPYC Venice, Pensando, and ROCm. The reported deal includes up to 2 gigawatts of Instinct MI450 capacity, with the first gigawatt targeted for H1 2027, plus an equity investment of up to $5 billion in Anthropic.
