LLMs are making obscure math suddenly mainstream

The author says mathematicians are a little tired, but also mildly flattered, that obscure math is suddenly getting public attention thanks to LLMs. The point is that researchers now have a chance to contextualize things that were previously ignored by the general public. The post also adds a caveat: the result is still impressive, and it is exciting that LLMs can discover these structures, add dimensions, and connect pieces together.
