Mathematics as an experimental science: Marc Lelarge to talk LLM-driven math experiments at ENS
marc_lelarge · x · 2026-10-27
Marc Lelarge (INRIA & DIENS) will speak on "Mathematics as an experimental science" at the ENS-CFM Data Science Colloquium on October 29.
His abstract argues AI is transforming mathematics: he will present ongoing experiments combining LLMs, proof assistants, and an unusually large number of collaborators — experiments that were impossible a few months ago and may be outdated by talk day. The colloquium is organized by Giulio Biroli, Stéphane Mallat, and colleagues.
