Scientists have used AI to virtually unwrap a 2,000-year-old scroll charred by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, successfully deciphering its text.
The project recovered 20 columns of text. The accompanying image of the scorched artifact highlights AI's immense value in handling fragile historical documents that cannot be physically opened.
