LLM Licensing May Shift to Revenue Sharing

The author argues that at massive scales, open-source models might pivot to revenue-sharing licenses rather than remaining purely MIT-licensed.
They predict that companies capable of serving 10T+ scale models will eventually shift costs to large-scale deployers through new licensing models. Compute providers will also be looped into the cost-sharing ecosystem; otherwise, open labs will gradually lose their competitive edge.
