Meta Adds Self-Harm Alerts for Teens Using Meta AI
CodeByPoonam · x · 2026-07-17
Meta has introduced a self-harm risk alert mechanism for teens using Meta AI: if a conversation between a teen and Meta AI involves self-harm content, the system can now notify parents.
This is a safety guardrail update for minors, with the core change being a direct link between "risk detection" and "parental intervention."
