MIT Gives Low-Cost Robotic Arms Force Sensing

The MIT CDFG Lab, in collaboration with Amazon Robotics and others, introduced NeuralActuator, aiming to help low-cost robotic arms better model complex actuator behaviors in the real world.
Key highlights of the paper include:
- Enabling models with sensor-less force perception
- Supporting real robot control with force feedback considerations
- Bridging the sim-to-real gap through improved actuator modeling
This work was awarded the RSS 2026 Outstanding Systems Paper Award.
