Using Google Drive as Persistent Context for Gemini

Users are hoping to use entire Google Drive folders as a persistent context workspace for Gemini conversations. This would allow the AI to automatically reference newly added documents, much like NotebookLM, eliminating the need for manual file imports. It remains unclear if this functionality can currently be achieved natively in Gemini via @ Workspace.
