Codex Proactively DM'd Another Agent
jacob_posel · x · 2026-07-14
The author says the team initially built a messaging CLI for file paths and prompts via /dm between humans and agents. During debugging, Codex proactively messaged another agent requesting a health check; the other agent rejected the request because it didn't recognize the sender. The author sees this as an interesting emergent behavior, like building the infrastructure for "agent-human-agent" interaction.
