Nadella on AI's Reverse Information Paradox
heyshrutimishra · x · 2026-07-13
Satya Nadella's article proposes a "Reverse Information Paradox":
- In the past, information sellers had to reveal the information first, putting the risk on the seller.
- Now, as buyers use AI, they continuously feed their processes, standards, error-correction methods, and tacit knowledge to the models/vendors, shifting the risk to the buyer.
The core concern is that every prompt, correction, fine-tuning, and evaluation gradually沉淀 core competitive knowledge—such as "what defines good," "where processes break," and "how the organization runs"—into the vendor's system, creating new competitive barriers and leading to IP outflow.
