Guide to Connecting Claude Code with GPT-5.6-Sol
dkundel · x · 2026-07-12
Someone shared a simple method to connect Claude Code to GPT-5.6-Sol via CLIProxyAPI: install and connect CLIProxyAPI, then set up a claudex shell alias that binds several environment variables (like CLAUDECODESUBAGENTMODEL, CLAUDECODEALWAYSENABLEEFFORT, CLAUDECODEMAXTOOLUSECONCURRENCY, etc.) together with claude --model gpt-5.6-sol.
The author mentioned they already had a proxy configured, so the whole process took only about 2 prompts to complete. If it gets blocked later, they joked they'd "owe a reset."
