Although the author cannot attend RSS this year, their students and collaborators are presenting 5 robotics papers. This post highlights the 1st paper:
- Visual Verification Enables Inference-time Steering and Autonomous Policy Improvement: Uses a VLM verifier alongside an off-the-shelf generator/policy to guide inference and enable self-improvement in generalist policies.
- Core takeaway: Feedback from a visual verifier can boost the performance of generalist robot policies without the need to train new ones specifically.
