Study Intelligence with Physics-Level Rigor
YiMaTweets · x · 2026-07-11
YiMaTweets, in a keynote at the ICML Foundation of Deep Generative Models Workshop, stated: Intelligence should become a scientific research object, and its importance "may be greater than physics."
He believes that studying intelligence should employ the same scientific methods and mathematical rigor as modern physics, rather than remaining at an empirical, metaphysical, metamathematical, philosophical, or purely speculative level for long. He also said this could be the "biggest opportunity" for young scientists, and that it is not currently a focus of any frontier AI company.
