US Eases AI Compute Export Limits for UAE

pstAsiatech · x · 2026-07-11

The US Department of Commerce's BIS has made special arrangements for AI and advanced compute export controls to the UAE: authorizations for entities like G42 and Core42 will automatically expire after 270 days unless they "become a US company" or receive renewed BIS approval. BIS evaluations will be based on compliance capabilities, historical records, security arrangements, ownership structure, and US national security interests.

This signals that the UAE is viewed as a trusted AI infrastructure partner, but advanced computing controls aren't fully lifted; export restrictions for other entities still apply.
