The author posted a lengthy response to the controversies surrounding xpatla, focusing on two main issues:
- Account deletion and subscription: He admitted that the account deletion page previously lacked clear warnings, causing users to be unaware of active subscriptions when closing their accounts. He stated the process has been fixed: account deletion now automatically cancels subscriptions. They identified the 4 affected users, canceled their subscriptions, and refunded the fees charged post-deletion.
- 30-day refund guarantee: He emphasized that this is not a hidden clause added later, but has always been stated in the Terms of Service and Refund Policy. The rule is: users must actively use the product for 30 consecutive days, follow the AI coach's advice, and try the content strategies; if no results are achieved, a refund can be requested. However, this does not apply to cases of simply "using it and deciding I don't want it."
He also shared a metric: 59 refunds have been processed over the past 5 months, and he still personally reads every single request.
