Augustus raises $180M to build an AI-native dollar bank
The post says Augustus has come out of stealth and raised $180M at a $1B valuation to build what it calls a “Global Dollar Bank.”
The pitch is that international fintechs and non-U.S. banks currently have only two imperfect ways to access dollars: relying on legacy clearing banks, or using middleware that still depends on those banks underneath. Augustus says it collapses that stack by combining:
- direct dollar access
- Marble, its proprietary bank core built “around intelligence and made of code”
The post frames the company as an AI-native banking infrastructure play focused on moving dollars globally.
