Claude Chat quietly launches a new 'Memory files' memory type, which organizes information about you into editable notes that users can modify themselves, rather than being fully managed by Claude. Currently, data cannot be migrated from classic memory; users must manually copy existing summaries to have Claude remember them, so those who don't want to start over should continue using classic memory.
