Ofir Press shares several predictions regarding frontier AI capabilities. He believes people will consistently prefer and use frontier models over non-frontier alternatives. By 2029, he expects small models to generate up to 100,000 tokens/second, while frontier models will reach around 2000 tokens/second. He also highlights the massive gap between theoretical and effective context windows: while models might claim 1 billion token contexts, the effective usable window for frontier models will likely be only around 50 million tokens.
