Run Agents Autonomously With One Line of Code: Proactivity SDK
regalstreak · reddit · 2026-07-07
Most agent frameworks rely on a passive loop, acting only when prompted by a human. To schedule daily morning briefings or follow-ups after 3 days, developers must manually act as schedulers, memory, and triggers. The Proactivity SDK's `proactive()` wraps existing agents in a single call, enabling them to auto-wake based on custom schedules (e.g., checking back in minutes when busy, sleeping until the next day when idle). It informs agents of changes since the last wake, retains goals across sessions to avoid redundant work, and prevents duplicate messaging. It is compatible with LangGraph, OpenAI SDK, Anthropic SDK, Mastra, and Eve, and can be installed as a plugin via a single command on OpenClaw or Hermes.
